Loyal customers, a basic signup form
nonu's customers usually come with a problem: regular earrings irritate their skin. So the first order is the hard part. Once people see that the jewelry works for them, they stick around and come back for new launches. Returning customers already bring in around 20% of revenue, and founder Robin Linnemann thinks 30% is realistic. Most of that repeat business runs through email, so every new subscriber counts.
“Many customers need to take the leap on their first purchase. Once they see the product works for them, they are very loyal and come back, especially for new products.”
Robin Linnemann, Founder, nonu
The email side was already in good shape. nonu has used Klaviyo for two years, an agency built the flows, and Robin keeps tweaking them. In August 2026 the list had around 4,000 subscribers, and the team was just starting with cohort analysis.
Signups came in through Klaviyo's standard popup: an email field and 10% off, sent out by the welcome flow. In the 28 days before the switch, the list grew by 15.6 subscribers a day on average. The team had wanted a more interactive signup with a few questions for a while and had even looked at an external quiz tool, but hadn't built anything yet.
The setup
nonu joined PopUplift as a pilot customer in August 2026. On August 11 we had a demo call with Robin and Mireya Muñoz Machuca, who handles email marketing, Meta ads and customer support at nonu. Setup took one 1:1 session on August 13: install the app from the Shopify admin, connect Klaviyo, build the popup. The popup went live in the store on August 18.
Instead of typing their email into a form, visitors now scratch a card to reveal their discount. The discount didn't change, it's still 10% off. What changed is how people sign up and what happens next:
Unique code per subscriber. Every signup gets its own Shopify discount code, so each order can be traced back to the popup.
Double opt-in with automatic code delivery. PopUplift set up the Klaviyo flow in one click. The code is sent as soon as someone confirms.
Klaviyo and Shopify sync. Every signup is added to the Klaviyo list and saved as a customer in Shopify.
Store branding. Logo and colors were pulled from the Shopify theme, and the legal links only had to be added once.
nonu's effort: one setup call. Demo on August 11, setup on August 13, live on August 18, pilot until August 28, 2026.
PopUplift features in use
Scratch-off
Visitors scratch to reveal their discount instead of filling in a plain email field. The offer stayed at 10%.
Unique codes
Each subscriber gets their own discount code, created in Shopify. You can see exactly which orders came from the popup.
Double opt-in flow
PopUplift checks whether the Klaviyo list uses single or double opt-in and sets up the flow that sends the code. One click.
Klaviyo sync
Signups go into the Klaviyo list you pick, with their profile data. Use an existing list or a new one.
Shopify sync
Every signup is saved as a customer in Shopify. Discount codes are created and tracked there too.
Branding import
Logo and colors are pulled from your Shopify theme. Add legal links once and they show up wherever they're needed.
